Lochfield Farm in rural East Ayshire was the birthplace of Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin. The farm is run by Phil and Heather Scott and has two, modernised, self catering cottages for hire, both with free wi-fi. This is a cosy, scenic and tranquil retreat, four miles from the town of Darvel. We visited here in May 2017. |

Bryncalled Barns have been lovingly restored by Sam and June Hornsby. We stayed here in February 2010 and can highly recommend them as well equipped holiday cottages in rural Shropshire, close to the village of Bucknell. |
